No burn permits will be issued during a red flag warning, fire danger advisory and/or fire alert, drought emergency, or during the summer burn restriction. The summer burn restriction is issued annually by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) from May 1st till October 31st in an effort to protect air quality in areas of the state that have had a history of air pollution problems.
