Westover Municipal Fire Department is currently accepting applications for all levels of employment. Westover Municipal Fire Department provides fire and EMS services to the citizens of Westover and parts of the surrounding unincorporated Shelby County.
Employment Levels: Type 1 – Administrative (salaried, office hours) Type 2 – Full time (24 hours on duty, 48 hours off duty with a Kelly day every 9th shift) Type 3 – Split Shift (24 hours on duty, 96 hours off duty) Type 4 – Fill In (as needed/back-filling off time)
Employee Benefits: Firefighter-Paramedic pay rate: $17.35/hr. Firefighter-EMT Advanced pay rate: $16.63/hr. Firefighter-EMT pay rate: $15.95/hr. 10 Recognized Holidays (1.5 times regular hourly rate) (pay rates as of 10/07/2023) (We currently do not offer a RSA Retirement benefit)
Minimum Qualifications: Alabama driver’s license Alabama Firefighter I/II certification Alabama EMT license Hazardous Materials - Awareness and Operations certification Fire Apparatus Operator: Pumper certification (within one year of hire date)
Preferred Qualifications: Alabama Paramedic license RT: Rope I (TRP: Rope Rescue Awareness and Operations > 01/2024) RT: Vehicle and Machinery Extrication I Fire Apparatus Operator: Mobile Water Supply
